about
There's nothing worse than wishing you could have done more. That there was something else you could've said, some way they could have realized how much they matter, anything that could've prevented this. Nero is an intensely personal song for all of us in Wings, as it's a reflection on the depression, downward spirals, and in some cases death of those close to us and the hopelessness we've felt in trying to help. I'm sick of losing the people I've come to love. I'm tired of waking up to find that the world has once again become smaller, that depression has taken yet another friend who's done nothing but bring happiness to those around them. And I'm distressed by my inner Rome burning, as my inability to be there for everyone fuels the flames.

lyrics
I see you tread around me
Spider you weave your web
I watched you walk my water
Drowning my threads
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Chain me where the vultures feast on living flesh
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Dragged through muddy waters, then back to zero
I never saw it coming, with every inch of being I wish I were dead
My bad Mrs. Misery, your artifice is cunning
I never saw your headlights racing my way
I never saw it coming, with every inch of being I wish I were dead
(Walk my water, drown my threads)
Venomous intentions misguiding apprehension
In case you might have seen it where the fuck is my head?
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Chain me where the vultures feast on living flesh
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Dragged through muddy waters, then back to zero
Your touch so silky smooth, check the pulse, my mind spirals out
Sink 'em! Sink 'em!
I’m sure there’s blood left underneath, for your nails so sink them deep
Dig in! Dig in!
You parasite, feed within, hidden well beneath my skin
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Chain me where the vultures feast on living flesh
Burn my Rome, be my Nero
Dragged through muddy waters, then back to zero

Like Prog? Like Metal? This is the band for you. Don't like prog? Don't like metal? That's okay. Still the band for you. As
a band, we strive to be a figure of balance, with the de-tuned riffs of djent, the atmosphere of neo-prog, and the time-signature modulation of progressive rock and metal, while still maintaining a focused and melodic centric base of coherent songwriting....more
